This book was so amazing, firstly just because of how different it is! Sorry Ms. Witherspoon. Really at this point I was ready to give up on the novel, but there is a murder involved and I wanted to find out whodunnit. 1.572 Personen fanden diese Informationen hilfreichRezension aus dem Vereinigten Königreich vom 18. The whole book is wonderful ..a story of survival in the face of prejudice, of poverty and loneliness. Now, Witherspoon is adding yet another impressive feature to her oeuvre: a film adaptation of Where the Crawdads Sing. So he passes on coming back to claim her and Swamp Girl's heart broken. A story about nature, growing up, coming of age and survival. März 2019 Rezension aus den Vereinigten Staaten vom 3. The notion of an illiterate marsh girl self-educating to the level of an academic research scientist beggars belief. Kya's life become part of mine and the characters ceased to live on the page... they were alive with me and I was in the marsh, feeling every feather - the air, creatures and the plants. 1.683 Personen fanden diese Informationen hilfreichRezension aus den Vereinigten Staaten vom 31. Oktober 2018 I read this book only because I had met Delia and have read her wildlife books she wrote with husband Mark Owens. I grew more irritated with each page by the last half. I had the impression that the writer was trying to pull some cheap tricks to coax certain feelings out from the reader, and not even in a subtle way. Rezension aus den Vereinigten Staaten vom 17. I give it three stars because it did really start well but went downhill, for me at least, after the first half.
